Actor and vocalist Tahsan Khan has been granted six-week anticipatory bail by the High Court in a case filed against him for allegedly collaborating and embezzling funds from e-commerce company Evaly.
His bail application was heard on Thursday (January 20) by Justice Sheikh Mohammad. The High Court bench of Justice Zakir Hossain and Justice Khizir Hayat passed the order.
Advocate Sanjida Khanam appeared for Tahsan Khan in the court. Deputy Attorney General Mohiuddin Dewan represented the state.
At the same time, the High Court advised celebrities to be more careful about being advertising models or brand ambassadors.
Earlier, on December 4, 2021, Saad Sam Rahman, a customer of Evaly, filed a case against Tahsan Khan, Rafiat Rashid Mithila and Shabnam Faria and nine others at Dhanmondi Police Station. According to the statement of the case, the money of the customers has been embezzled and assisted fraudulently. The amount of money embezzled was 3 lakh 18 thousand taka, which could not be recovered. Evaly MD Mohammad Russell and chairman Shamima Nasrin have been arrested in the case. The rest are under investigation.
Later, on December 13, the High Court granted six-week bail to actress Rafiat Rashid Mithila and Shabnam Faria in the case. After returning from abroad, Tahsan applied to the High Court for bail.
Incidentally, actor Tahsan Khan was associated with the e-commerce company Evaly as a goodwill ambassador. And Rafiat Rashid Mithila was associated with the organization’s ‘Face of Evaly Lifestyle’ as a goodwill ambassador. Actress Shabnam Faria joined as the Chief Public Relations Officer.
