Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said, “Work is underway to keep the prices of goods normal in the market around the upcoming Ramadan. The sales of TCB products will be increased in the open market at a fair price including last time.”
He was speaking at a function at Lalmonirhat Sheikh Shafi Uddin Commerce College on Saturday (January 29) afternoon.
The Commerce Minister said, “If the price of things including edible oil goes up in the international market, so does Bangladesh. However, I am working to ensure that the price of anything does not go up this Ramadan.”
Regarding market control, Tipu Munshi said, “We have already been asked to monitor the market in all parts of Bangladesh. Action will be taken against anyone who raises prices by stocking a product.”
Tipu Munshi further said, “The government has taken a master plan around the river Tista. The government has taken a plan to implement a project worth Tk 8,500 crore. I’m doing it. “
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi came to Lalmonirhat to distribute blankets among the cold-stricken people organized by the Rotary Club. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Abu Jafar, District Council Chairman Advocate Matiar Rahman, District Chamber of Commerce President Sheikh Abdul Hamid Babu, Additional Superintendent of Police Rabiul Islam and Municipal Mayor Rezaul Karim Swapan among others.
