The Commerce Ministry has rejected the proposal of hiking prices for edible oil raised by the country’s importers companies. The administration will take strict legal actions against those will try to increase prices by any ill manner.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi made the disclosure after an inter-ministerial meeting on Wednesday (March 02) afternoon.

Besides, the meeting also took a decision that no unbottled soybean and palm oil will not be allowed to sell after May 31 and December 31 respective.
Earlier on February 6, the government increased prices of edible oil by Tk 8 per liter in coordinating with the international market.
On February 27, importers raised a proposal to fix Tk 180 per increasing Tk 12 per liter for bottled edible oil.
