Analysts believe that investors have been showing enthusiasm since the beginning of the new year. As a result, the stock market has become stronger. The country’s capital market index rose on Thursday (January 20), the fifth working day of the week.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) index rose 16 points on the day. The index on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) rose 65 points. Through this, the index rose for six consecutive days.
According to the data, the price index is increasing almost every day. At the same time, the speed of transactions has also increased. In other words, like the first two weeks of the new year, the country’s stock market was up last week.
Last week, the market capitalization of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased by about Tk 250 crore. As a result, the market capitalization increased to over Tk 23,000 crore in the first three weeks of the new year.
Analyzing the market, it can be seen that the market capitalization of DSE stood at Tk 5 lakh 65 thousand 235 crores at the end of last week’s trading day. On the last working day of the previous week, it was 5 lakh 64 thousand 996 crores.

This means that the market capitalization of DSE has increased by Rs 239 crore in the last week. And in the previous two weeks, the market capitalization increased by Tk 22,800 crore. As such, the market capitalization increased by Tk 23,039 crore in the first three weeks of the new year.
According to the market data, the DSEX, the main price index of the DSE, has risen by 88.46 points in the last week. The index rose 230.79 points in the first week of the year. In the second week, it increased by 29.78 points. In other words, in the first three weeks of this year, the main price index of DSE has increased by 349.03 points.
In addition to the main price index, the DSE Shariah Index, a company based on Islamic Shariah, has risen for three consecutive weeks. The index has risen 6.69 points over the past week. The index had risen 29.56 points in the previous week. In the previous week, it had increased by 41.3 points.
Meanwhile, the DSE-30 index, which is made up of well-selected institutions, also rose for the first three weeks of the year. The index has risen 19.08 points over the past week. The index rose 13.22 points in the previous week. In the previous week, it increased by 70.50 points.

The data shows that in addition to the increase in market capitalization, the share and unit prices of most companies have risen on the DSE in the last week. Shares and unit prices of 224 companies traded on the DSE during the week. On the other hand, the price of 139 has come down. The prices of 23 are unchanged.
Meanwhile, the average turnover on the DSE was Tk 1,648.63 crore per working day last week. In the previous week, the average daily turnover was Tk 1,566.46 crore. In other words, the average transaction per working day has increased by Tk 82.15 crore.
The total turnover on the DSE during the last week was 8 thousand 243 crore 19 lakh. The previous week’s transaction was 7 thousand 832 crore 44 lakh. As a result, the total transaction has increased to 410 crores 75 lakh.
