Nine teachers and officials of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) have been sacked. A separate letter signed by the university’s registrar Muhammad Shafiur Rahman informed about the exemption.
Among the exempted teachers are- Associate Professor of English Language and Literature Dr. Mohammad Kausar Ahmed, Additional Course Teacher Nur Nabi and Business Education Department Teacher Saima Haque.
In addition to the other six officers- the director of the Academic Affairs Division Dr. Mortuza Ali, Assistant Director Chowdhury Golam Mawla, Assistant Librarian Anwar Hossain Noori, Assistant Director (Library) Nurul Kabir Khan, Engineer Soaib and Rezaul Karim.
A copy of a letter sent to Dr. Mohammad Kawsar Ahmed states that as per the instructions of the appropriate authorities, you have been dismissed from your job with effect from 15th January, 2022, as your services at IIUC are no longer required. However, you will be paid as usual for the next four months i.e. from 15th January to 14th May.

The letter addressed the teacher and requested that the results of the final examination of the current semester be submitted to the examination controller or the departmental chairman at the prescribed time. Exemption letter will be issued from this office subject to receipt of completed clearance form with no objection certificate from the concerned offices including your department.
Asked about this, Chowdhury Golam Maula, Assistant Director, Academic Affairs Division, told The Asian Tribune that a peon from IIUC came to my house on January 15 with a letter. I opened the letter and saw that I had been released. I have kidney disease. Regular dialysis is required. As a result of leaving the job, we will be in trouble with our family.
In this regard, the Registrar of IIUC Muhammad Shafiur Rahman told Jago News that the matter has been settled on the instructions of the appropriate authorities. I do not wish to comment on this at this time.
