Theft is not stopping at the Islamic University (IU). Theft is on the rise. Recently, the Department of Physical Education has been accused of stealing lights and toys. The value of the stolen item is about 1 lakh taka. The department has not taken any action even after informing the authorities.
Wednesday (January 19) afternoon, the director of the physical education department of the university Dr. Sohail Hossain has confirmed the matter.
According to the Physical Education Department, various gym and sports equipment of the Physical Education Department were stolen from the gymnasium. The pitch cover was stolen from the university cricket ground on the night of January 13. Earlier, tennis ground lights, sets of lights kept in the store outside the gym and tube wells were also stolen. The value of the stolen goods is almost lakhs of taka. These items were not found even after searching. The Department of Physical Education is in danger of major theft, including the loss as a result of constant theft.
The physical education department has applied to the registrar to take the necessary steps to stop the theft. The petition demanded the use of CCTV cameras including GD in the police station and strengthening of security.
In this regard, the director of the Department of Physical Education Dr. Sohail Hossain said, “Some things have been stolen recently. I have applied for this along with the registrar. So that the university authorities take necessary steps to stop the theft.”
