Dhaka University (DU) will remain closed till February 6 due to increased corona infection. However, at this time, if the students want, the departments will be able to take the ongoing examinations of Honors fourth year and Masters physically.
This information has been given in a circular signed by the Controller of Examinations of Dhaka University Bahalul Haque Chowdhury on Sunday.
It is said in the notification that the students of the fourth year Honors and Masters examinations of Dhaka University will be able to accept the rules of physical health if they agree.
The Department of Islamic Studies took the exam of Masters on Sunday physically. The chairman of the department, Prof. Dr. Shamsul Islam said that the examination had been taken following the rules of health.
In this regard, the Vice-Chancellor of the University (Education) Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal told the Asian Tribune, “The departments will be able to take the honors fourth year and master’s exams physically. Apart from this, if there is an examination left in any department, which can be given, the result can be taken if the students want. We have asked the departments to give priority to any matter of interest to the students.”
In the light of the national decision on Friday, Dhaka University was declared closed till February 6. However, the university’s residential halls will remain open until further notice, authorities said.
