The investigation committee has found evidence of sexual harassment of a student of Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College in the capital. Monday (January 24) night, the principal of the institution, Professor Dr Md Daulatuzzaman confirmed the matter to The Asian Tribune.
He said action would be taken against the teacher as per the recommendation of the inquiry committee and the rules of the college. We will take the next step as instructed in the report. We will inform our chairman about this at the beginning and action will be taken later.
Daulatuzzaman said, “We have a system of punishment in our service rules for violating discipline in educational institutions and for ruining the environment. We will take that arrangement together.”
Meanwhile, the victim student said that the teacher, who was accused of sexual harassment, is currently out on bail. “If everything is proved in the investigation report, then I have a demand from the court that the accused should not be allowed to go around like this,” she said. Because I’m afraid my life will be in danger.
According to the college authorities, the investigation committee has submitted the investigation report to the college authorities at noon. Initially, they found the truth of the incident. However, members of the investigation committee declined to comment.
Note that the accused Dr. Salauddin had been harassing the student since September last year. The student complained to GD that his studies were being damaged due to this. The victim filed a case against Salauddin at Ramna Police Station on December 28.
According to the victim, Salauddin threatened to keep her in the same academic year for many years without passing the exam. He told her to go home for private study. But the student did not agree to go home. Salauddin is threatening her in various ways.
