Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) student’s all complaints will be investigated and action will be taken, said the Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni.
She spoke to reporters at her residence on Wednesday evening on the SUST issue. Mentioning the students’ movement as logical, their demands will be implemented, said the Education Minister.
Dr. Dipu Moni said, “We want to solve the main problem. Now what is happening is the manifestation of the problem. We want to find the root of the problem and solve it. Here teachers-students, university administration, the government are all on one side. They’re a little broken. Let’s get them together. We can go there in a few days. We’ll sit with them anytime the students want.”
“The students’ movement is logical. We will implement all their demands. They have broken their hunger strike. I thank them for that,” she said.
Responding to a question from reporters about the resignation of SUST Vice-Chancellor, the Education Minister said, “The resignation of VC is another matter. He was appointed by the President. His resignation will not solve the problem. One VC will go, another VC will come.”
Regarding the unnamed case, the education minister said, “What has happened before has happened. We want to move forward. We do not want any harm to be done to the education life of the students. The students will not be harmed as a result of the case.”
