Ten years have already passed since the enactment of the Education Act. Although the draft law has been sent to the cabinet department from time to time, it has been returned. Last year, when the draft was finalized and sent to the cabinet department, it was sent back with some observations.
It has already been decided to reconstitute the committee to sort out the observations of the cabinet department and present them to the ministry. After that, the draft law will be finalized and sent again to the cabinet department.
When asked, Education Minister Dipu Moni said, “It has been decided to reconstitute the previous committee to organize and present to us the observations made at the meeting of the secretary committee. The committee that was there before is not many now, the committee is being reconstituted now.”
According to the relevant sources, the Minister of Education on Wednesday (January 26) with the observation given by the Cabinet Department. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dipu Moni. Relevant senior officials of the two ministries were present at the meeting held to decide what should be done to restructure the draft law. In the light of the observation, it was decided to reconstitute the previous committee to finalize the draft law.
A senior official who attended the meeting said, “The Cabinet has made several observations. There are several laws in the field of education. The Education Act is an umbrella of all relevant laws, including the various laws, rules and university laws of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and Education. That is why all matters will be coordinated in this law. The Cabinet Division also said that if there is an opportunity to revise the draft in different places, it will be revised.”
On May 2 last year, Education Minister Dipu Moni said, “The education law has not been tried for a long time. Now it is almost in the final stages. From our side, we have made the final. It is in the process of going to the cabinet. If there is an education law, we will be able to reduce the many shortcomings in the field of education.”
The Ministry of Education held a meeting on October 13 last year on the observation of the Cabinet Division. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the minister on Wednesday (January 26) to decide what should be done to restructure the proposed education law in light of the decision of that meeting. At this meeting, it was decided to reconstitute the committee.
