Three fake doctors have been arrested in a raid in Barguna’s Amtali Upazila. They were arrested on Saturday (January 15) night. At that time, the mobile court fined Tk 20,000 for not having the legitimacy to give malpractice and treatment.
The arrested are KM Asaduzzaman Zafar, Elahi Mollah and Keshab Chandra Shil. They were setting up private chambers in different parts of the city and treating the common people in the name of medical treatment. They have given a bond that they will not give any kind of treatment to anyone any day.
According to mobile court sources, police arrested KM Asaduzzaman Zafar from Mahila College Road, Elahi Mollah from in front of Upazila Health Complex, and Keshab Chandra Shil from in front of Amtali Government College. Later, the valid documents for their treatment were verified.
The mobile court fined KM Asaduzzaman Zafar Tk 5,000, Elahi Mollah Tk 8,000, and Keshab Chandra Shil Tk 7,000 under Section 53 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 for not having any valid documents to treat the three detainees.
In this regard, the judge of the mobile court, Executive Magistrate Nazmul Islam said, there is no legitimacy to give treatment to those three persons. But for a long time, they were openly treating patients in private chambers.
