Stella Kiriakides, head of health and food safety at the European Commission, said, “Half of the world’s population has been vaccinated against the full dose of coronavirus. However, multi-pronged action is needed to take this vaccination program further worldwide.”
She was speaking at the Global Health Ministerial Conference in France on Wednesday (January 10th).
She said, “We are now in a position where 50 per cent of the world’s population can be vaccinated against the full dose of coronavirus. Europe has so far provided 1.6 billion vaccines to 175 countries. We need to make sure that every person is vaccinated. And we’re doing that.”
“The people of Africa are the least vaccinated. We are preparing a package to vaccinate them,” she said.
“The European Commission is working with every country in the European Union. More corona vaccines are now being developed to use the covax vaccine when needed,” said Stella Kiriakaids.
