The effectiveness of Pfizer and Modern booster doses against corona lasts up to four months. This is according to a new research report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
After taking two doses of Corona vaccine, its effectiveness gradually begins to decline. This has already been confirmed by adequate research. However, the effectiveness of booster doses has not been adequately studied.
From August 2021 to January 22 this year, the CDC has collected the data of the new research report. It analyzed the data of 241,204 people who were treated in the emergency department of hospitals and clinics in the United States and 93,408 people who were admitted to the hospital.
The study found that two months after receiving the booster dose of coronary omicron variant infection, those who came to the emergency department or emergency care center for treatment of covid had an 87 percent vaccination effect. But in the fourth month, the efficiency has come down to 66 percent.
Within the first two months of taking the booster, the effectiveness of the vaccine against corona infection and hospitalization was 91 percent. But in the fourth month it came down to 78 percent.
The researchers concluded in a research report that “the fact that the protection obtained through the MRNA vaccine decreases within a few months of receiving the third dose emphasizes the importance of taking extra doses to maintain or increase protection.”
