Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam has said that children under the age of 12 are being vaccinated to prevent the spread of the pandemic coronavirus.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting at the secretariat on Sunday (February 20). After the meeting, the cabinet secretary informed the media. The cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The cabinet secretary said a ‘special vaccination campaign’ would be held across the country on February 26. On that day, 1 crore corona vaccines will be given across the country. Vaccination can be done by writing down the permanent address without national identity card.
He added that “there will be no more corona restrictions after February 22 due to the reduction in corona infection. However, wearing a mask will be mandatory.”
Earlier on February 14, the health minister had said that those over 12 years of age would be vaccinated without registration.
