A four-day Parbotto Mela is scheduled to begin today at Chittagong Hill Tracts Complex in city’s Baily Rd area in the city.
The Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs is going to arrange the fair, aiming to introduce and promote the products of the small ethnic group so that they can attain self-reliant, said a pressrelease.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest with Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing in the chair.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud will attend the closing ceremony of the fair on January 8 as chief guest.
A total of 91 stalls will be set up in the fairground which will remain open for all from 10 am to 10 pm every day, added the release.
Besides, there will be cultural events each day in the evening where artistes from Rangamati, Bandarban and Khagrachori will stage different types of performance.
