The government is putting more emphasis on vaccination activities so that the educational institutions do not have to be closed due to the Corona situation, said the Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni.
She was speaking to reporters after the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Imperial College in the capital’s Aftab Nagar on Saturday (January 8).
The education minister said the government does not want to close educational institutions. That is why it is being decided to put more emphasis on vaccination activities. However, it is not possible to bring primary-level students under it.
She said the educational institutions had to be closed for the last one and a half years due to the Corona situation. So the government does not want to close educational institutions newly. For this reason, more importance is being given to the immunization activities of the students.
“However, it is possible to bring students under vaccination from the age of 12, but there is more concern about them as it is not possible to bring primary level students under it,” she added.
Dr. Dipu Moni said that if the new Corona situation escalates, the education system will suffer the most. That is why we want to bring students under vaccination and continue teaching in educational institutions.
