The government has no plans to lockdown in the country at the moment, said Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen.
The foreign minister made the remarks while inaugurating the booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to foreign ambassadors posted at Sheikh Russell National Gastroliver Institute Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.
“We are discouraging everyone from coming and going abroad,” he said. To save our people, in particular, health security is being strengthened during travel between Bangladesh and India.
The foreign minister said the good news was that the death toll from Omicron was much lower. A lot of people want to be more careful, so they want a lockdown.

‘The Covid-19 epidemic has made us realize that we cannot handle it alone. We have to face this challenge in cooperation with each other,” added Abdul Momen.
“I am delighted to be able to launch a booster dose vaccination program, especially for diplomats and their families working in Bangladesh,” he said. We have already vaccinated 75 million people in the country.
