Two tractor assistants were killed when a BRTC bus hit them at Kachua in Chandpur. The accident took place at noon on Monday (January 10) in the Shimultali area of Gauripur-Hajiganj road of the Upazila.
The deceased were identified as Sajib Hossain and Atiqur Rahman. They were two tractor assistants. The tractor driver and another assistant were seriously injured in the incident.
According to the locals, the tractor was going on one side of the road at noon. The Raipur-bound BRTC bus coming from behind pushed the tractor and it fell into a pond on the side of the road. Sajib Hossain and Atiqur Rahman were killed on the spot. Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to a nearby clinic.

The Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kachua Police Station Mohammad Mohiuddin said the bus and its driver could not be apprehended. However, necessary steps will be taken after the investigation in this regard.
