Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has fined a total of Tk 278,000 to seven restaurants for serving food in unhealthy environment and three people for placing goods on the sidewalks.
The raids were carried out in the capital’s Kawlabazar and Ansar camp terminal areas on Monday.
According to the DNCC, a fine of Tk 278,000 was imposed in 10 cases by conducting a campaign through a mobile court for proper implementation of government directives including following health rules. Seven restaurants were fined Tk 260,000 and three were fined Tk 18,000 for obstructing the movement of pedestrians.

The operation was led by Executive Magistrate Motakabbir Ahmed. Chief Health Officer of DNCC Brigadier General Jobaidur Rahman was present at the time.
