The third day of arguments has started in the murder case of retired Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan. The argument began at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday (January 11) in the court of Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Ismail. The four-day debate will end tomorrow (January 12).
Around 9:30 am, 15 accused were brought to the court under tight security to present the arguments of the case.
Prosecutor Faridul Alam is expecting a verdict in the case later this month.
He said that, earlier today (Tuesday) the lawyer of the accused Liaquat started the unfinished argument. Dismissed OC Pradeep’s lawyer then presented arguments. Then on behalf of the state, I will refute their argument. We can expect a verdict in the case later this month.

The defense testimony of the accused was completed on Tuesday afternoon, December 6, 2021. On the same day, the judge fixed January 9-12 as the day of argument for four consecutive days.
A total of 85 of the 63 witnesses named in the charge sheet in the Sinha murder case have testified.
Retired Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was shot dead by police at the Shamlapur check post of Baharchhara union of Teknaf Upazila on the night of July 31, 2020. The police filed three cases (two in Teknaf and one in Ramu).
Sinha’s elder sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a murder case against Teknaf Police OC Pradeep Kumar Das, Baharchhara Investigation Center Inspector Liaquat Ali, and nine other policemen in a Cox’s Bazar court on August 5, five days after the incident. RAB is responsible for investigating four cases. On December 13, 2020, the investigating officer and then RAB-15 Cox’s Bazar Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohammad Khairul Islam filed a charge sheet against 15 people including OC Pradeep Kumar Das.
