Gazi Sarwar Hossain Babu, Organizing Secretary of Dhaka South Juba League, distributed blankets and masks on the initiative of Juba League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil following the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He distributed the blankets and masks at Outfall Telugu Community Colony No. 14 in Dhalpur under Jatrabari Police Station in the capital on Thursday (January 13).
While distributing the blankets, Gazi Sarwar Hossain Babu said, ‘On the instructions of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Hon’ble Chairman of Bangladesh Awami Juba League Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and General Secretary Md. Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil, I have brought blankets and masks for health care as winter gifts to the helpless Telugu cleaners.’
He said, ‘In any crisis of the country, the leaders and workers of Juba League have stood by the helpless people all over Bangladesh under the leadership of Juba League Chairman and General Secretary under the direction of Hon’ble Prime Minister. Especially during the Corona period, the activities of Juba League have gained special appreciation from the common people and it was transformed into a humane Juba League as an organization. Telugu people have been living in Bangladesh for almost two hundred years. They are primitive cleaners. The Awami League government is working for the welfare of all the backward communities including Telugu. With the presence of Sheikh Hasina, the backward people living in Bangladesh are able to taste the opportunities. Juba League is and will always be by your side in its continuation.’
Lastly Telugu cleaners present, he asked for prayers for Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Juba League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil.
Besides, former general secretary of government Shaheed Suhrawardy College BCL and South Juba League leader Kauser Haque, Juba League leader Apu Ahmed Pintu, President of National Friendship Society Rahat Hussain, Dhaka District Organizing Secretary of Bangladesh Dalit and Disadvantaged Rights Movement UK Nandam Joy, S Peter Biswas, Joint Treasurer of Outfall Telugu Community Colony Social Development Council were also present on the occasion.
