Husband Jahangir Moral has arrested for killing his wife Fahima Begum (30) in Jessore. Accused Jahangir Moral gave a confessional statement to Judge Mahadi Hasan of Jessore Judicial Magistrate Court-4 on Friday (January 14).
Earlier in the morning, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested him from Kanaidia Rathkhola Bazar area of Tala upazila in Satkhira. He is the son of Daud Moral of Satpakhia village in the area.
Police on Thursday (January 13th) recovered the half-melted dead body of Fahima Begum from a toilet septic tank at Narendrapur Secondary School in Jessore Sadar Upazila.
PBI Jessore Superintendent of Police Reshma Sharmin said Jahangir Moral and Fahima Begum got married about 21 years ago. They have two daughters named Maryam (18) and Musfika (11). Accused Jahangir Moral and his wife Fahima Begum used to make a living by working in brick kilns in different districts including Jessore district. In their marital life, they had disagreements and often quarreled over various issues.

Fahima Begum went to the bathroom at the clinic in front of Monirampur police station. From there they crossed the fish market and got off at the Narendrapur junction by easybike from the front of the temple. The accused Jahangir Moral and his wife Fahima Begum left for the brick kiln on foot as they could not find an easy bike or a van there. On the way, they continue to quarrel and quarrel over their personal and worldly matters. Fahima Begum Jahangir used to misbehave with Moral near Narendrapur High School. At one point, they started arguing.
Fahima Begum kept walking in front leaving Jahangir Moral. Then Jahangir Moral hit Fahima Begum on the head with a bamboo found on the side of the road from behind. Fahima Begum fell on her side on the side of the road. At that time, Jahangir Moral wrapped a scarf around his neck and confirmed his death. The body was dumped in a septic tank on the side of a dirt road outside the school. When the sccused Jahangir Moral was produced in the court on Friday, he gave a confessional statement.
