Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that she does not want to see any martyr family or freedom fighter family begging in an independent country.
She said this in his inaugural address at the Deputy Commissioners’ (DC) Conference on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister said, “I do not want to see the families of the martyrs or the families of the freedom fighters or the families of the victims of the genocide make a living by begging.” Those concerned should play a proper role in this regard.
She said that not a single person in this country will be poor. The father of the nation has gone through our independent country. We are leading that country towards prosperity. The father of the nation dreamed that no one in this country would beg. We are working to realize that dream. The field administration has to play a role in these matters.
The Prime Minister said the facilities for government employees have been increased after the Awami League came to power. Their responsibilities have also increased.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the video conference from Ganobhaban at the inaugural ceremony of the three-day DC conference at around 10 am on Tuesday. After the official inauguration of the conference, the Prime Minister is addressing the DCs.
There will be 7 sessions on the first day, 8 on the second day, and 10 on the third day. Corona infection is on the rise, said the President. The DC sessions with Abdul Hamid, National Assembly Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, and Chief Justice Hasan Fayez Siddiqui will also be virtual.
In other years, the conference was held with the Deputy Commissioners in the meeting room of the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat, but due to Corona, this time the Deputy Commissioners Conference is being held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.
The conference is taking place two years later due to the coronavirus epidemic. This time the DC conference will end on January 20.
