Police could not catch the accused who fled after the killing of two Sub-Inspectors (SI) in the Dattapara area of Sonargaon Municipality in Narayanganj even after 19 hours. However, multiple police sources said that the accused was driving the car. At this opportunity, the accused left the car in the ditch and fled.
According to several police sources, a constable was injured and tried to flee after a vehicle was signaled to stop at a check post at Meghna Toll Plaza in Sonargaon. Later, the police managed to chase Alamgir Hossain along with his vehicle. At that time 42 thousand yaba tablets were recovered from him.
Alamgir was then brought to the district police super office. At this time he was driving. After a press conference at the SP’s office, two SIs and an ASI took him to the police station again. However, none of the three of them could drive. As a result, they gave the responsibility of driving to the accused. On this occasion, the driver jumped from the car in the Dattapara area of Sonargaon municipality and threw it into the ditch, and fled. Two SIs were killed and one ASI was seriously injured.

Narayanganj District Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mostafizur Rahman said the accused fled after the incident took place around 6.45 pm on Monday. He has not been caught yet. He added that some of the yaba recovered from the accused fell into the water and melted, while others were recovered.
Sonargaon police inspector (investigation) SM Shafiqul Islam said the accident took place while the accused was being brought to Sonargaon police station after a press briefing at the Narayanganj police superintendent’s office. When the locals rescued them and took them to Sonargaon Upazila Health Complex, Kazi Saleh Ahmed and Shariful Islam were declared dead.
Incidentally, the accident took place in the Dattapara area of Sonargaon municipality on Monday (January 17) at around 6.45 pm. SI Shariful Islam and Kazi Saleh were killed at that time. They were both working in Sonargaon police station. Shariful Islam is the son of Yusuf Ali of Charvaipara area of Sadar upazila of Gopalganj and Kazi Saleh is the son of Kazi Nurul Islam of Munsurabad village in Bhanga Upazila of Faridpur.
An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Rafiqul Islam was injured in the incident. He was rushed to Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital.
