Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members raided Teknaf beach in Cox’s Bazar and recovered 4 kg of ice (crystal meth).
The drugs were recovered from the Jaliya Dwip area of the Upazila on Wednesday (January 19) morning. However, no one was arrested at the time.
Captain Lt. Colonel Sheikh Khalid Mohammad Iftekhar confirmed the matter to the Asian Tribune. He said a group of people raided the island of Jaliya in the Myanmar border area north of Teknaf in the morning after receiving a report of drug smuggling. During the search, 4 kg of crystal meth was found inside a packet. These drugs have been kept at the BGB headquarters. It will be destroyed later on the instructions of the authorities.
