A drug dealer named Mohammad Amir Ali (28) was allegedly stabbed to death in the capital’s Mohammadpur area by a former enemy.
The incident took place on Friday (January 21) at around 1.30 pm on Aziz Khan Road in Rayer Bazar, Mohammadpur.
Milon, a friend of Aamir’s, told The Asian Tribune that he (Amir) had a quarrel with Kabir and Humayun about drug trafficking 5-6 months ago. When Amir was found alone last night, Kabir and Humayun along with some others stabbed him at random. Amir was later rescued in a bloody condition and taken to Dhaka Medical College where doctors declared him dead.
He said Amir was stabbed in the chest, back, and nose. There has been a lot of bleeding. Amir went to Rayerbazar with another friend named Falan.
Confirming the matter, Mohammadpur police sub-inspector in charge of the market outpost (SI) said Shafiqul Islam told that he went to the spot after receiving the news at night. A team has been sent to Dhaka Medical. Initially, I came to know that Kabir and Humayun, two brothers, had stabbed Amir to death. The body has been kept at Dhaka Medical morgue for autopsy.
He added that Amir, Kabir, and Humayun used to sell flowers in Shahbag and Shaheed Minar areas. At the same time, they were involved in drug trafficking. Initially, it was known that there was a quarrel between them. Further details will be revealed at the end of the investigation.
Bachchu Mia, in charge (inspector) of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, told the Asian Tribune that a young man was rescued from Mohammadpur at night and brought to Dhaka Medical College. The doctor later pronounced him dead. We interrogated a man named Milon. He said two brothers, Kabir and Humayun, stabbed him to death.
I have informed the matter to Mohammadpur police station. They are investigating.
