Locals said the boy’s father, Abdul Jalil Akand, 65, came home at around 10 pm on Saturday (January 22) after hearing a religious gathering and suddenly fell ill. He was rushed to fulpur and then Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for treatment.
The doctor on duty declared him dead at half-past one in the night while he was undergoing treatment. After the body was taken home by ambulance, son Zulmat Ali (25) could not bear the grief of his father’s death and fainted. He was taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital at night. The doctor on duty there declared him dead on Sunday (January 23) morning.
Abdul Jalil’s son Zulmat Ali came home from Singapore 18 days ago. On Saturday afternoon, his father went to see the bride for Zulmat’s wedding.
Confirming the death of the father and son, Vaitkandi Union Parishad Chairman Alal Mia said, “The incident has cast a shadow of mourning over the area including the family. No one can accept such a tragic death of father and son.”
