A Rohingya leader has been hacked to death in Kutupalang refugee camp at Ukhia in Cox’s Bazar. He was known as Abul Kalam Azad. Two other Rohingya people were also injured in the incident.
The incident took place in camp-2 at Kutupalang early Sunday (February 13).
Abul Kalam Azad was son of Habibur Rahman of the camp. Two injured were identified as Md Amin and Md Jafor.

14 Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Superintendent of Police (SP) Naimul Haque confirmed the matter.
He said, “A clash ensued between two groups due to internal conflict. Being informed, a police team of Balurmath camp rushed to the spot. The team found Abul Kalam injured there. He was whisked off to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where he succumbed.”
