The Bangladesh Embassy in Poland has requested Bangladeshis living in Ukraine to leave the country immediately.
The request was made in a post on the embassy’s Facebook page on Tuesday (February 15).
The embassy’s Facebook post said, “In the current context, respectable expatriate Bangladeshis living in Ukraine are being advised to leave Ukraine immediately. If they cannot go to another country, they can return to Bangladesh. The embassy will monitor the situation and update the advice later.”
The embassy also advised Bangladeshis to avoid all travel to Ukraine unless absolutely necessary. Besides, all Bangladeshis residing in Ukraine have been requested to inform the embassy of their location.
However, no official statement was received from the Foreign Ministry on the matter.
Earlier on Monday, an emergency circular was posted on the Facebook page of the Bangladesh Embassy in Poland. It advised the expatriate Bangladeshis to move to safer places in view of the war situation in Ukraine.
