23 officials of the Election Commission (EC) Secretariat have been transferred. The transfer orders were issued on Monday (February 14) and today, Tuesday (February 15), EC sources said.
These officers have been instructed to leave the workplace within two days.
According to Election Commission sources, these decisions were taken on Monday. However, the order was issued a day later.
According to commission sources, the outgoing KM Nurul Huda commissioned the office till 6 pm on Monday and signed more than two hundred files. Most of these are related to the publication of the gazette of the Union Parishad. There are also files related to transfer of election officials, counting of votes for Hazratpur Union Parishad elections in Dhaka district, preservation of electronic voting machine-EVM, and reception of EC officials. After finishing the office, they took official leave in the evening. After dinner, they returned home around 11 pm.
Besides, the offices of 5 private officials of the EC Secretariat have been changed by an order on Tuesday.
The order directed the officers to leave the workplace by February 16. Otherwise, they will be standardized from February 17.
