An 18-year-old college student was allegedly held hostage and gang-raped for four days in the capital’s Lalbag area.
The victim was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) immediately after she was rescued from in front of Raju Memorial Sculpture near Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University (DU) on Wednesday (February 16) evening.
The 11th grader victim said that she came out of home for attending tuition class around 10:00 am on February 12. On the way, Shuvo and Alamin stopped her and picked up to an unknown place. There she was raped by turns after forcibly feeding her sedatives. Shuvo and Alamin raped her for four days. On Wednesday afternoon, they left her near Raju Memorial Sculpture area.
Shuvo and Alamin both are acquaintances to her from earlier.
The girl alleged Shuvo had been proposing her for love affairs for last several days. He started stalking her over phone after she refused his proposal.
It was learned that the girl informed the matter to a pedestrian on TSC area. Later, she was taken to DMCH.
Mahfuzul Haque, Inspector (Investigation) of Shahbag Police Station, confirmed the matter to the media.
He said, “The girl is being taken treatment in the hospital. A case will be filed in this connection.”
The two accused were not arrested till the report was filed, according to the Inspector.
