Bangladeshis living in Saudi Arabia are suffering from high ticket prices of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, loss of luggage and schedule disruption. Free internet service is not available at the airport. On the other hand, due to some dishonest officials and a class of travel agents, they have to pay extra money to get tickets.
A large part of Bangladesh’s economy comes from remittances sent by expatriates. But the expatriates have to suffer in almost every case of coming and going in the country. There are allegations of schedule disruption and loss of luggage along with the high ticket prices of state-owned Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
Travel agencies claim that it is not possible to inform the passengers about the change in the schedule of the flight due to the scheduled crash. And this is the reason why passengers get in trouble after arriving at the airport.
A travel agency official said, “Although free internet service is provided at the airport through passport number in different countries of the world, such arrangement has not been made in Bangladesh yet. Many expatriates suffer to get free internet service at the airport after returning home. To get OTP or One Time Password, but people who have been living abroad for a long time are also deprived of that service as they do not have a local mobile number.”
In collusion between some dishonest officials of the airlines and a class of travel agents, the tickets are opened step by step at certain time on the ticket sales server. Due to which these tickets remain out of reach of ordinary passengers. In the meantime, the unscrupulous clique has created a crisis in the sector by increasing ticket prices three to four times on the black market. Due to which the travel cost of the expatriate workers has also increased a lot.
