The National Department of Consumer Protection has conducted a raid on the puffed rice factory in Comilla ahead of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. The operation was carried out on Thursday (March 24) in the BSCIC industrial area of Comilla city.
The matter has been confirmed by the National Consumer Rights Protection Department, Comilla District Branch Assistant Director Md Ashadul Islam.
He said the operation was conducted from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. Mrs. Bengal Food was fined 20,000 tk. It was prepared by using low-quality unapproved salt and 5 bags of salt were destroyed. In addition, Mrs. Tanvir Food Products was fined 20,000 Tk for packing the puffed rice in the machine, it is packaged with false advertisement as hand fried puffed rice.

“We will continue this activity,” he added. We are constantly monitoring and taking action against unscrupulous traders.
