Four people were killed when a CNG-powered autorickshaw collided with a pickup truck at Raipura in Narsingdi. Another was injured.
The accident took place in the Amirganj area of Narsingdi-Raipura regional road around 6:30 am on Friday (March 25). Their names were not immediately available.
According to police and local sources, a pickup carrying vegetables was going to Raipura from Dhaka in the morning. When the pickup reached the Amirganj area, it collided head-on with a CNG-powered autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction. The CNG fell on the side of the road. At that time, four persons in CNG were killed on the spot. Another was injured. He was admitted to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital with serious injuries.
Amirganj outpost in-charge (SI) Farid said two vehicles involved in the accident were seized. The accident happened due to speeding.
