Three scientists, including a woman, were killed and 30 others injured in a three-way collision in Baliapur area of Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka on Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as Arifuzzaman, Pooja Sarkar and Kawser Rabbi. They are scientific officers of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission of Ashulia.
Quoting locals and fire service, Atiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Savar Highway Police Station, said the Dhaka-bound truck carrying cattle hit the passenger bus when it was trying to take U-turn on Dhaka-Aricha highway.
At that time, the staff bus of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission from Dhaka hit the bus at 9:00am, leaving one died on the spot and 32 others injured.
The injured were taken to Enam Medical College and Hospital where duty doctor declared two of them dead.
The rest injured are being treated at various hospitals in Savar.
