A mobile court has sentenced a driver to imprisonment and fined a candidate for affixing DB stickers on the car of an Awami League candidate in Comilla’s Chandina Union Parishad elections.
He was arrested from Barkait High School in Barkait Union of the Upazila at 10 am on Wednesday.
Sabina Yasmin, the executive magistrate of the mobile court, sentenced the driver Mohammad Ali to seven days imprisonment and fined the Candidate for the boat symbol Abul Hashem Tk 10,000.
The arrested driver Mohammad Ali is the son of Shafiqul Islam of Banshtali village in Baruda upazila of Comilla.
And the boat candidate Abul Hashem is the current chairman of Barkait Union.
Executive Magistrate Sabina Yasmin said Abul Hashem, a candidate for the boat symbol, entered the car within 400 yards of the center with a police DB identity sticker. Additional Superintendent of Mobile Police Abdur Rahim arrested him. At this time I penalty and fine them.
