Awami League General Secretary, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader MP have called upon the BNP to prepare for the upcoming parliamentary elections from the side of the people.
He made the call in a statement signed by Awami League office secretary Biplob Barua on Saturday afternoon.
The Awami League general secretary said the caretaker government issue is now a past issue and the matter has been settled in the country’s high court. There is no need to heat the field.

Obaidul Quader said in response to the statement of the BNP leaders, “Apart from the BNP, there are many other political parties in the country. They have probably forgotten that. If BNP does not take part, nothing will stop. The democracy of the state and the continuity of the constitutional process will not stop. Their job is to challenge the government and any efforts and achievements for the welfare of the country.”
The Minister of Road Transport and Bridges said, “They are controversial to the people today when it comes to debating everything. Today they are on the brink of a deep abyss due to reckless politics. Their cries are nothing but a failed attempt to cover up their failures and keep the morale of the leaders and workers.”
Addressing the BNP general secretary, the general secretary of Awami League further said that Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has demanded to hold elections by handing over power to a non-partisan caretaker government. There is no need to demand elections from the Sheikh Hasina government. At the end of the term of the government, the national parliamentary elections will be held in the country in time as per the constitutional rules.
