Information and Broadcasting Minister and Joint General Secretary of the Awami League Hasan Mahmud said that the BNP wants to sabotage the election by not taking part in the President’s dialogue.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of ‘Dinbodoler Mela’ at Dhaka University’s Student-Teacher Center (TSC) Road Island on Sunday afternoon. He was the chief guest at the event organized by Poster Cultural Parliament and Vajrakantha Organization.
The Information Minister said the President has organized a dialogue to form an Election Commission based on the views of all through a transparent process. But the BNP will not go for that dialogue and is running various propaganda against the dialogue. Because they conspired in 2018 just as they wanted to thwart the elections in 2014 – in the same way, they are conspiring to thwart the next election. But the people of the country will not give them that opportunity.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Hasan Mahmud pointed out that the use of coarse rice and huts has ‘changed’ to paint a picture of development in Bangladesh.
He said that now even rickshaw pullers do not eat thick rice, thick rice is now fed to cows. There are no slum houses in Bangladesh now, huts are only in poetry. Today that hut is kept for wood and cows, but there are no people.
Hasan Mahmud said the days have changed under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the last 13 years. In the nineties, the slogan was that the wages of the workers should be equal to the price of three and a half kg of rice. At present, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the wages of workers to such a level that workers can buy 12-13 kg of rice with one day’s wages.
