Jatiya Party chairman GM Quader said the dream of independence was to own the country by the people. They will have the power to run the state. Democracy will be established in the country. The two parties that have been in power since 1991 have cut short the constitution and established a dictatorship in the name of parliamentary democracy in the country. Dictatorship is against the spirit of independence. At present, the power of the state is in the hands of one person in the country.
GM Quader made the remarks at a discussion meeting and cultural program of the Jatiya Sanskritik Party on Independence and National Day at the Institution of Diploma Engineers auditorium in the capital on Saturday (March 26).
“We have gained independence,” said GM Quader. But the people of the country who responded to the call for freedom for liberation, liberation did not match even today. The people of the country wanted freedom from discrimination and deprivation. They wanted a country free from exploitation.
“We have celebrated the golden jubilee of independence, but the people of the country are not enjoying freedom,” he said. We got independence but not freedom.
In a discussion meeting chaired by Jatiya Sanskritik Party convener Sharifa Quader MP, Secretary-General Mujibul Haque Chunnu MP said, “We will be on the streets to protect the interests of the people no matter what obstacles come.” We will continue our struggle against corruption and misrule.
Co-chairman Kazi Firoz Rashid MP said, “The goal we fought for independence has not been achieved.” Those against whom we have fought are now the owners of the banks, they are now the owners of the garment industry.
