Tamim Iqbal’s T20 career has started a stir in the country’s cricket ground during the BPL. Tamim has not played in an international Twenty20 since March 2020. He also withdrew from the last T20 World Cup on his own. The Tiger opener has finally made an official announcement about his T20 career.
Tamim’s team Minister Dhaka will practice at 5:30 pm today at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. Before the start of practice, Tamim Iqbal told the media that he wanted to take a break from the International Twenty20 for the next six months. If the team wants, they will reconsider the decision before the World Cup. So did Tamim leave T20?
“I am not thinking about the International Twenty20 for the next six months. I made this decision after talking to everyone. At this time I will focus on ODIs and Tests,” tamim said.
Even then, the ODI captain has not confirmed whether he will return to this format. “I will consider returning to the team after six months if I feel the need. If I see those who are playing well, then maybe I will not return to this format,” tamim said. Earlier, Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan Papon said Tamim Iqbal had told him he did not want to return to the International Twenty20.
