The inauguration of the exhibition on February 5 marks a significant diplomatic and cultural milestone, reaffirming the enduring friendship between Turkey and Malaysia. Esteemed Turkish diplomats, art connoisseurs, and societal figures convened at The KL City Art Gallery for the opening ceremony, underscoring the commitment to fostering cultural understanding between the two nations.

Birlikte Sanat Society: A Beacon of Hope

Founded in response to the 2023 earthquake in Turkey, the Birlikte Sanat Society, under the banner "Rising from the Ashes," has orchestrated successive exhibitions and auctions worldwide. These efforts have raised funds for constructing wooden housing units for earthquake victims. Comprising volunteers, the society remains steadfast in its commitment to hosting exhibitions for the benefit of Palestine across Dubai, Malaysia, and Brunei.

Cemal Toy, co-founder of the Birlikte Sanat Society, underscores the healing power of art, affirming its pivotal role in individual and societal recovery, even amidst the most daunting crises. The society persists in its dedication to supporting Palestine and extending assistance to those in need.

Art Therapy for Refugee Children

In tandem with the exhibition, the Birlikte Sanat Society, in collaboration with Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) and Geutanyoe Malaysia, spearheads an art therapy program designed to unearth the interests and talents of children in Refugee Schools and Learning Centers in Malaysia. This initiative aims to empower 670 orphaned and refugee children aged 5-18 from Palestine, Yemen, Myanmar, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, and Sri Lanka through the therapeutic medium of art. The event is scheduled for February 6 and 7.

Global Outreach and Impact

Having captivated audiences in New Jersey, Istanbul, Kuwait City, Doha, Milan, and Dhaka, the Birlikte Sanat Society embarks on its remarkable global journey. Kuala Lumpur joins this cultural odyssey, disseminating a potent message of hope and resilience. Anticipated to travel to Amsterdam and beyond in the coming months, the exhibition resonates as a beacon of solidarity and artistic expression on the global stage.
