Last year, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) set same rates for broadband internet services.
At the union level, it was instructed to provide 5 Mbps speed internet service at 500 TK. In the light of that experience, the government has decided to tie the knot on mobile internet this time.
The BTRC chairman said at a function on a broadband policy at a hotel in the capital on Wednesday (February 23rd) that the process of determining the accretion of mobile internet was in its final stages.
He said, “At present, the cost to buy four GB data of Grameenphone subscribers for a period of three days is 76 Tk. The cost of a Banglalink customer to buy the same amount of data in the same period is 64 TK. If the new decision takes effect, there will be no park.”
Meanwhile, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications urged to reduce the prices of 4G handsets besides fixing the prices on mobile internet.
