Russia plans to arrest Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy overnight. But his forces resisted.
He made the claim in a video message on Saturday (February 26th). “Russia wanted to replace me with a leader like itself by detaining me,” he said.

He called on Russian citizens to put pressure on President Putin to stop the attacks in Kiev.
“Russia’s plan to arrest me has failed. Kiev is controlled by Ukrainian forces. Besides, big cities are also under their control,” Zelenskyy said.
He said his country had the right to become a member of the European Union.
Despite being the largest country in Europe, Ukraine has not been able to join the EU. However, their constitution was amended to allow them to join the European Union.
