After 81 days of treatment at Ever Care Hospital in the capital, BNP chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia has finally returned to her rented house in Gulshan. The car carrying Khaleda Zia left Ever Care Hospital for her Gulshan residence at 7.30 pm on Tuesday.
At that time, Khaleda Zia’s car was surrounded by the BNP chairperson’s personal security guards and party leaders and activists.
On her way home from Ever Care Hospital, Khaleda Zia’s car had to stop again and again. All the way from Bashundhara to Firoza of Gulshan-2, the vehicle carrying Khaleda Zia was seen stopping. At that time, the CSF, which was in charge of Begum Zia’s security, was seen to be quite active. Even the leaders and activists of the party were seen moving forward with their beloved leader around the car. The police were also vigilant to prevent any vehicle from approaching Khaleda Zia’s car.
It may be mentioned that Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on November 13 last year after vomiting blood. There, a special medical team of 10 people led by Shahabuddin Talukder is treating him.
On November 28, doctors at Khaleda Zia’s medical board told a news conference at her residence that “Khaleda Zia was bleeding due to cirrhosis of the liver.” Although the bleeding was stopped three times, it was feared for the fourth time.
At that time, the doctors said that they were feeling helpless about Khaleda Zia’s physical condition. There is no technical opportunity to handle such bleeding in Bangladesh. He must be taken out of the country quickly. They also recommend treatment in specialized hospitals in the United Kingdom, the United States or Germany. The family also applied for permission from the government to seek medical treatment abroad. But the government said it was not possible to leave the country due to legal obligations.
