The Edgewood baseball team had a memorable experience during their Spring Break in Florida at the Jackie Robinson Major League Baseball Training Complex.

Last week, the Edgewood baseball team had a chance to escape the unpredictable early spring weather in Ashtabula by heading down to Florida. The Warriors not only enjoyed the sunshine, sand, and shore of Florida's east coast but also had the unique opportunity to play at a major league facility, the Jackie Robinson Major League Baseball Training Complex.
Coach Derek Stern expressed his excitement about the experience, describing it as "great." The team played on top-notch turf fields, used professional batting cages, and even had the chance to play a high school game on a major league facility. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the players.

A Business Trip with a Touch of Fun
While Stern referred to the trip as a "business trip," it was much more than just baseball. The team spent five days together, enjoying some time at the beach, sharing meals, and bonding as a high school baseball family. From sunrise to sundown, the team did everything together – breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between. It was more than just a baseball trip; it was an opportunity for the players to build relationships that will last a lifetime.

Despite finishing the trip with a 1-2 record, Stern emphasized that the focus was not solely on wins and losses. The experience provided valuable insights into the team's strengths and weaknesses as they prepared for the upcoming Chagrin Valley Conference games.
