Innovative Projects Take the Stage

Students showcased a wide range of creative and innovative projects at the fair. From a telebot controlled by brain-thought sensing devices to a recycle bin that rewards users with treats for recycling, the projects were both impressive and impactful. One student even developed a fireboat as a remote-controlled first responder device to detect dangerous chemicals in emergency situations.

Fostering Interest in STEM Education

One of the main goals of the fair is to spark interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education among students who may not have previously considered these areas as future career options. By providing a platform for students to showcase their talents and creativity in these fields, the fair aims to encourage a new generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

Advancing to State and International Levels

The winners of the fair will be announced during a virtual ceremony on March 24, where 36 category winners and special awards will be recognized. The first and second place winners in Los Angeles County will advance to the California State Science and Engineering Fair, with the potential to move on to the International Science and Engineering Fair.

A Diverse Representation

Students from various school districts across L.A. County, including Alhambra, Arcadia, Glendale, Los Angeles, and more, participated in the fair. In addition to public schools, students from independent/private schools and Archdiocese of Los Angeles Catholic schools also showcased their science projects, highlighting the diverse talent and creativity present in the county.

Encouraging Innovation and Creativity

The students' dedication and ingenuity were on full display at the Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair, showcasing the potential for innovation and creativity among the youth in the region. As the next generation of scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers, these students are shaping the future of STEM fields with their groundbreaking projects.
