In a recent announcement, Meta revealed its plan to label video, audio, and images that have been manipulated or created using artificial intelligence. This move comes in response to growing concerns about the spread of misinformation through AI technology.

According to Meta, the labeling will involve marking content as "Made with AI" when the system detects AI involvement or when creators disclose it during the upload process. Additionally, if the content poses a high risk of deceiving the public on important matters, a more prominent label will be added.

In a blog post, Monika Bickert, Meta's VP of content policy, emphasized the importance of balancing transparency with freedom of expression online. The company is committed to removing content that violates its policies against voter interference, bullying, harassment, violence, incitement, or any other Community Standards violation.

As the tech industry grapples with the challenges posed by AI-generated content, Meta's proactive stance sets a precedent for other platforms to follow suit in combating misinformation and preserving the integrity of online discourse.
